About

Mission

The Friends of the Kelly Rink mission is to bring ice skating and all sports associated with ice skating to the youth of Jamaica Plain, Roxbury and neighboring inner city neighborhoods, because we believe that everyone should be able to ice skate. We work toward achieving this goal in two ways.

Our affordable skate rental program makes ice skating accessible to thousands of community members each season.

Additionally, we operate a USFSA-sanctioned Learn-to-Skate program each January and February form hundreds of youth and adults.

We’re also proud to employ a number of local youth in our rental trailer, developing workplace skills, earning money, and acting as the public faces of our programs.

Organization

The Friends of the Kelly Rink is a 501(c)(3) organization and our board is entirely volunteers.
